About Your Broker
Steve Kim
Licensed broker · Founder, WFI Healthcare Agency LLC
For over twenty years, Steve has sat with families and businesses, all across Bergen County and the rest of New Jersey, walking each of them through the coverage decisions in front of them — in English and in Korean. WFI Healthcare Agency is the independent brokerage he built around that work.

In his words
Why he does this
Most people come to me at a deadline. They have turned 65, or lost a job, or opened a letter saying their plan is changing next year. The letter runs four pages and none of it is written for them. My job is to read it, translate it, and tell them what their actual options are — including the option of doing nothing.
I do not work for an insurance company, I am appointed with several. I can put their plans next to each other and tell you which one fits you for what you actually care about — which doctors you see, which prescriptions you take, how often you go. If your current plan is already the right one, that is what I will tell you.
I treat every client who comes to me the way I would want my own family treated — getting them every benefit they qualify for, and finding the plan that fits them best.

What happens if you call
How working together goes
No forms to fill out before the first conversation. Here is the whole sequence.
- 1
A first call, about twenty minutes
You describe your situation. Steve listens and tells you whether he can help. If your situation needs someone else — a Medicaid caseworker, an attorney, your employer’s HR — he will say so.
- 2
What you actually use
Your doctors, your prescriptions with dosages, how often you see specialists, whether you travel. This is the part that decides which plan is right, and it is the part most comparison tools skip.
- 3
Plans side by side, with real numbers
Not the marketing summary — the actual premium, deductible, drug tier placement, and network status for the doctors you named. Including what it costs you to stay where you are.
- 4
Enrolling
If you decide to move, Steve handles the application and confirms the effective date with the carrier. You get a copy of everything submitted on your behalf.
- 5
The following autumn
Plans change every year. Before the annual enrollment period opens, Steve reviews whether yours still fits — and calls you either way.
Two things people ask first
Straight answers
No. WFI Healthcare Agency never charges you a fee — there is no consultation fee, no enrollment fee, and no service fee, on any line of coverage. You pay the same premium whether you enroll through Steve, directly with the carrier, or on your own, and that premium goes to the insurance company, never to us. Brokers are compensated by the carriers, at rates set by CMS for Medicare plans.
No. WFI Healthcare Agency is independent. Steve is appointed with several carriers and is not employed by, owned by, or exclusive to any of them.
